The 2026 Premiere Opera Foundation International Vocal Competition marks our 10th Annual Competition, expanding internationally with a new Munich Live Track, alongside our established New York City Live Track and Virtual Worldwide Track.
All singers begin with an Online Qualifying Round. Selected Semifinalists may compete in Munich, New York City, through the Virtual Worldwide Track, or in more than one track. The Munich and New York Live Semifinals also serve as Professional Casting Auditions before distinguished international industry professionals.
New for 2026: Up to three outstanding singers from the Munich Live Track will advance directly to the POFIVC World Finals in New York City on December 15, with round-trip airfare and accommodation provided by Premiere Opera Foundation.

Finalists selected through the New York City Live Semifinals will be joined by up to three Finalists advancing directly from Munich.
FORMAT
The 2026 Premiere Opera Foundation International Vocal Competition begins with one worldwide Online Qualifying Round, followed by three competition tracks for singers selected as Semifinalists:

Semifinalists may choose to compete in Munich, New York City, Virtually Worldwide, or in more than one track, subject to the requirements, deadlines, and registration fees of each track.
Each track is adjudicated separately and features its own jury, prizes, awards, and professional opportunities.
No Age Limit • No Citizenship Restrictions
QUALIFYING ROUND — ONLINE
All applicants begin with the Online Qualifying Round.
Applicants must submit the required materials through our Online Registration Form, along with one (1) to two (2) audio or video performance links. Selections may be in any language and appropriate vocal repertoire or style.
Recordings should be recent, preferably from within the past 18 months.
Applications are reviewed on a rolling basis. Singers interested in competing live, particularly those traveling internationally, are encouraged to apply early.

WHAT’S INCLUDED WITH YOUR SUBMISSION
Every application will receive a professional review by the Qualifying Round Jury, and all applicants will have opportunities to participate in future career-development seminars and masterclasses with distinguished industry professionals and master teachers. Applicants will also receive complimentary admission to the POFIVC World Finals Concert in New York City.
Singers selected as Semifinalists will be invited to continue in Munich, New York City, Virtually Worldwide, or in more than one track, subject to the requirements, deadlines, and registration fees of each track.
LIVE SEMIFINALS — MUNICH & NEW YORK
The Munich and New York Live Semifinals combine competition adjudication with a Professional Casting Audition, giving singers the opportunity to compete for prizes and advancement while being heard directly by leading international industry professionals.
Up to 75 singers may be selected for the Munich Live Semifinals, and up to 125 singers for the New York City Live Semifinals. Munich and New York are adjudicated separately and feature their own distinguished juries, prizes, special awards, and professional opportunities.
WHAT’S INCLUDED IN BOTH LIVE TRACKS
Live Professional Audition: Perform before an international jury and professional panel of casting directors, artistic administrators, agents, theater consultants, and other industry professionals.
Professional Casting Audition: Your Live Semifinal performance simultaneously serves as your Professional Casting Audition.
Professional Pianist: A high-level professional pianist will be provided. Singers may also choose to bring their own pianist at their own expense.
Professional Audition Recording: Each Semifinalist will receive a professional-quality video recording of their audition for their personal and promotional use.
International Theater Pledge: Select participating casting directors whose theaters are represented on our juries pledge their intent to offer professional contracts and/or stage auditions to select Semifinalists.
Optional Live Feedback: Semifinalists may select a Live Feedback Add-On providing a private, in-depth 25-minute Zoom session with at least two participating jury members, scheduled following the competition.

Remote Participation
In select circumstances, invited Live Semi-Finalists who are unable to travel to Munich or New York City may request permission to audition remotely in real time before the on-site jury. Remote participation must be requested in advance via email and is subject to approval by POFIVC. This option is separate from the Virtual Track.

Round-trip airfare and accommodation will be provided by Premiere Opera Foundation for the selected Munich Finalists.

PATHWAY TO THE WORLD FINALS

PROFESSIONAL CASTING AUDITION — AUDITION-ONLY TRACK
Established, in-career artists and emerging singers who prefer not to participate in the competition may register separately for a guaranteed live Professional Casting Audition before the professional panel in Munich or New York City.
Audition-Only participants are not entered into or considered for the competition and will be clearly identified to the panel as professional casting participants.

POFIVC WORLD FINALS
NEW YORK CITY, USA • DECEMBER 15, 2026
The POFIVC World Finals represent the culminating live round of the 2026 Premiere Opera Foundation International Vocal Competition.
Up to 15 singers may be selected from the New York City Live Semifinals to advance to the World Finals. They will be joined by up to three outstanding singers selected through the Munich Live Semifinals, who will advance directly to the World Finals.
All World Finalists will perform live in New York City before the World Finals Jury, together with invited casting administrators, artist representatives, and other industry professionals.
A high-level professional pianist will be provided for the World Finals. Finalists may not bring their own pianist for this round.
The World Finals Concert will be open to the public and recorded for archival and promotional purposes.
Winners will be announced following the concert.
Following the World Finals, Finalists will have the opportunity to meet and speak directly with members of the jury, invited industry professionals, and audience members.
All World Finalists may request written feedback from the Premiere Opera Foundation team and will receive a professional-quality video recording of their Finals performance.

Every Finalist will receive a cash prize.
Singers do not need to advance to the Finals to be considered for certain Special Awards, including professional contracts and stage audition opportunities offered through our International Theater Pledge.
Prizes and awards will be presented across the New York Live, Munich Live, and Virtual Worldwide Tracks, expanding both the number and international diversity of artists who can benefit from the competition.
