APPLICATION FEE WAIVERS

Premiere Opera Foundation offers a limited number of application fee waivers to qualified singers who demonstrate significant financial need. Waiver requests are considered based on both financial need and artistic merit, and not all requests can be approved.

Application fee waivers are intended for the Online Qualifying Round application fee and must be requested and approved before submitting the competition application.

Singers who advance to the Semifinals and experience significant financial hardship may be considered for assistance with the Semifinal registration fee on a case-by-case basis. If you anticipate needing assistance should you advance, please indicate this in your fee-waiver application.

FEE WAIVER REQUEST DEADLINES

Munich Track: October 23, 2026
New York City & Virtual Tracks: November 20, 2026

Fee waiver requests must be received with all required materials by the applicable application deadline. Late or incomplete requests will not be considered.

HOW TO REQUEST AN APPLICATION FEE WAIVER

To request an application fee waiver, please email Premiere Opera Foundation and include all of the following:

  • A brief personal letter describing your financial circumstances and need for assistance.

  • One recent performance video demonstrating your current artistic level. A YouTube, Vimeo, or similar accessible video link may be submitted.

  • If financially independent: a copy of your most recent tax return.

  • If a student: documentation from your college or university Financial Aid Office confirming current financial aid or demonstrated financial need.

All required materials must be submitted. Requests received without complete supporting materials will not be reviewed or considered.

An email requesting a fee waiver without the required supporting materials does not constitute a complete fee waiver request and will not be considered.

All financial documentation will be kept strictly confidential, and requests will be reviewed individually. Submitting a complete request does not guarantee approval. The number of application fee waivers available is limited, and all decisions are final.
